The aim of this blog is to raise funds for the building of the Neo Wellness Centre in Huay Malai, Thailand. Every day, Dada will post about the detox, healthy eating tips and the benefits of fasting.

Sangkhlaburi, a remote area in the west of Thailand’s Kanchanaburi province, is home to a number of ethnic minorities, or “hill tribes”. Originating whether from the region or from neighbouring Myanmar (Burma), these people are amongst the most disadvantaged in Thailand, yet for cultural reasons receive very little support from the government. Most are denied Thai citizenship, leading to difficulty in accessing education and healthcare. As a result, the majority of schools and hospitals in the area are operated by NGOs on a very tight budget.
According to the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO): “Hill tribe people face a higher degree of poverty than other groups in Thailand. They lack access to basic social services (including education and health) and they also lack opportunities for systematic skill development, income and employment.”
Located near the village of Huay Malai, Baan Dada Children’s Home provides a better future to children whose families are too poor to take care of them. A lot of the children raised here have gone off to university or found a good paying job in Bangkok.
Based on the neohumanist philosophy, Baan Dada also leads community projects around the village, including vaccination and eye care programmes.
But for a more durable impact, it is important to educate the local population on health and wellbeing, improving their quality of life and cutting their risk of developing health issues they cannot afford to cure.
Part of Baan Dada Children’s Home and Community Services, the Neo Wellness Centre will provide that education through classes and seminars, as well as yoga and meditation facilities, and a herbal garden for natural remedies. With your help we can ensure the limited access to medical infrastructure around Huay Malai is not an obstacle to the population’s health and happiness.
